Exercise can also control your diabetic symptoms. You should be getting at least 30 minutes a day. Try going for a brisk walk, or joining a club or a sports team. Exercise may also help you control your weight. Losing just ten pounds can sometimes control diabetic symptoms. Always talk to your doctor before beginning and exercise program.
Sometimes you’ll need to take insulin to control your diabetic symptoms. This can be done by injecting the insulin into the fat below the skin. You can use a pump, pen or syringe. Some people may be able to use an inhaler. There are also other diabetic medications that may help you.
It is Important to monitor your blood to keep diabetic symptoms at bay. You will use a blood glucose meter often to check your blood sugar. This includes a lance and lancet to prick your skin, and a test strip to hold a drop of blood. If you control your blood sugar level, you can live a long and full life free of diabetic symptoms.
