Perhaps bring a camera along and as the individual is walking they can take a few photographs Jogging is another good exercise, but if the individual has not exercised recently it would be a better idea to begin with walking first and working up to jogging.
Forms of exercise could be as simple as walking on a treadmill twice a day. If there are other family members either living in the same home or living close by, ask if they will participate in helping with this new transition. Many times it becomes easier when there are others surrounding the individual to offer encouragement and support.
