Prediabetes

Prediabetes is an impaired glucose tolerance and where blood sugars can be high but not sufficiently high enough to be considered a diabetic. There are no seldom any visible symptoms but there are risk factors that will help diagnose prediabetes such as obesity, previous history or family history of diabetes, high blood pressure problems and high lipid counts. Race may also play a factor for some races have a higher rate of risk for developing prediabetes.

As blood sugar levels increase there are some symptoms that are often overlooked or put down to other causes. Moodiness is often brought on when the high glucose levels are present and a decrease in the ability to concentrate is also often a sign of diabetes.

Muscle cramps and soreness is often experienced with sudden weight loss of diabetes. As tissue breaks down, electrolytes (salts) are lost which are found in all body tissues and as we lose them muscles become prone to cramping pain.
