This is often referred to as Juvenile diabetes. That is because it is normally diagnosed when the person is a child and that individual ends up chronically dependent on the need for insulin support. It will not be something that was necessarily the result of one given cause although there are several things that can have been factors. Such things can be the result of basic genetic issues or it can also be the result of being exposed to certain viruses. In either case the person will require treatment and have to monitor his or her blood sugar levels. It can require following a program of eating foods that will allow for balance diet to ensure the blood sugar levels remind stable as much as possible. And also it will also be a time when a program for regular exercise and activity will assist in the blood sugar level control.

And with Type1 diabetes the person will have the same problem of the pancreas not functioning correctly. It will not be something the person can ignore and is even more important since the person is still a child. That is because if the problem is left untreated it can cause problems to the body maturing naturally. It can result in unexpected complications in health problems. Impact the immunity system and impede the healing process. This can produce various issues for a child’s health if the diabetic condition remains unnoticed for two long. So should the problem of Type1 diabetes run in the family or other family members have diabetes then it is extra important they do not neglect any symptoms. It would be very important that a child be check regularly for blood sugar levels if this is something that is apart of the family history. This can be done during times of regular check ups with the doctor. That is unless there is the notice of symptoms taking place.

Type 1 diabetes is not something that can be cured. It will require the need for the same types of insulin help as any diabetic. This can require shots at times. Which may be something that can be hard on a child should he or she have a fear of needles. It might require some assistance from the doctor to help with getting a child to be able to cope with this realty. But with the right care and encouragement the child can be able to adjust to this very important change in his or her life. This will depend on the approach of the parent. And it can also be helped should the time be taken to totally explain about diabetes. The lack of knowledge can contribute to any possible fears a child might have about the unknown. So that will require patience and understanding on the parents’ part. Still it will be able to make it something that can be turned from a traumatic situation to one that is easier to accept.

While there is no way to cure this disease with the right care and treatment a child can expect to live and long and healthy life. There is no reason that with proper help the child needs to feel handicapped. He or she should find acceptance from family and be able to know what limitations that might be involved with their situation. However it doesn’t mean that the person is bedridden or unable to do so many things any other child can do. Taking time to explain the facts will help with that problem. And also making sure one let the child feel encouraged to look at the future with a sense of hope. That bright outlook will go a long way to making this transition more relaxed.

In type 2 diabetes the body can produce insulin but often not in the necessary or proper quantities to insure healthy functioning of the body. The risk for developing Type 2 diabetes can be greatly decreased by following a healthy regime of diet and exercise.

In order to detect and treat diabetes early some of the signs and symptoms of the disease are: Increased fatigue, polydipsia (thirst), polyuria, (frequent urination), polyphegia (hunger), weight flunctuations, Irritability, Infections and slow healing qualities

type 1 and type 2 diabetes although often having similar symptoms are actually two entirely different diseases. The chances of developing type 1 diabetes are hard to predict as it is an auto-immune metabolic disorder that could be caused by a virus but the actual reason type 1 diabetes takes place is not known. If at risk for type 1 diabetes you should have a fasting blood sugar test performed at least yearly. The odds for developing type 2 diabetes are higher if you have a family history of diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is a hereditary disease but normally triggered by something such as obesity. That is why the odds can be minimized with a healthy lifestyle. Following a well balanced diet high in protein and fresh vegetables and eating such foods as sweets and breads in moderation will go a long way. The second thing you can do to reduce the risk of developing diabetes is exercise and active lifestyle. A good 30 minutes of cardio exercise 4 times a week is a good guide to follow.

A common misconception about diabetes is that it is it is caused by sugar or eating too much sugar when the fact is it is actually caused by glucose mostly found in carbohydrates. It is this glucose that derived from the carbohydrates that raises our blood sugar levels and when our metabolism fails to deal with this and reduce the blood sugars to unacceptable levels the body reacts and serious problems can arise. Another error is that it does not run in the family and this is false, it is a hereditary gene and some people can carry it and pass it on without ever having diabetes or diabetes symptoms themselves. It is estimated that a parent with type 2 diabetes has about a 1 in 30 chance of passing diabetes on to their children. If you have worries about being at risk or of possibly having diabetes consult with your family doctor who will evaluate your risk of diabetes and if necessary have you tested.

There are several symptoms one might experience that can be relate to diabetes. They are not by themselves absolute proves that one has diabetes, but if they persist one will not wish to discount who they could be related to diabetes. Such symptoms can include things like excessive thirst and appetite, increased urination, fatigue, nausea, unusual changes in weight, dry mouth, yeast infections, blurred visions, itching skin and slow healing cuts and sores. Each can be caused by other problems, but if more than one starts to happen to the body on a regular basis it would be a time to seriously have one’s blood sugar or glucose level checked by a meter. A doctor can do this test during a check up and the meter gives results very quickly. And if the meter shows that the blood sugar is too high then more extensive tests can be done. Sometimes there are other facts that may have cause the blood sugar level to be high.

So it is very important to notice when there is a change in one’s body. Should, for example, suddenly being thirsty all the time can be a big change, unless there is a reason. Such as if one was to take up exercise and ended up sweating a lot. Then it has a viable reason for being a change. However, each person should be able to know those changes. So it should be easy to know when such changes don’t have an understandable cause. And naturally with something like fatigue that can have several sources. It is easy to get wore out by stress and a lack of sleep. Thus it is important to have a balance in appreciation when something is just a temporary problem. With other symptoms it can vary in terms of possible causes. Something such as weight changes can be from diet changes. Eating differently can easily alter what one weighs, good or bad. So if one suddenly starts a diet and loses weight it has a naturally cause.

Therefore, a person needs to be able to have some balance in understanding. To not ignore some symptoms when they never were a problem before while also recognizing when they have some explanation. That can require a level of honesty we might not want to admit. Plus being willing to take that trip to the doctors when a problem exists too long is never easy. Still avoiding it will not make it go away. So putting off the visit can actually make things worse when there is a real problem. It can only be determined if the person is willing to submit to the tests and examination. And sometimes that turns out to not be a case of diabetes. One just will never know that if the time comes and one decides that having cuts that take forever to heal is just one of those things. That is so easy to do and never a good idea.

But once one finally visits that doctor how easy it is for him to treat the problem. He can look at family history, one’s lifestyle and health to see any possible connection. Then if needed he can ordered a blood test to check and see how the blood levels have been over a period of time. Often the changes due to diabetes happen over a period of time. So certain blood test will help to reveal that information. They do take a few days to provide results so the doctor might have some interim suggestions to help with the symptoms. And it will all be a means to help ease whatever problems they are causing.

There are some symptoms that are related to Type 1 diabetes that are common with diabetes in general. They are just ones that specifically be noticeable as happening to juveniles. And as with all symptoms they should not be ignored when they continue for very long. This can be more uncertain when a child is growing and body is constantly changing. So it is very important for a parent to observe any changes. For Type 1 diabetes the symptoms that might be observe would include frequent urination and increased thirst, extreme hunger, weight loss, fatigue and blurred vision. They all have been known to be symptoms that take place with Type 1 diabetes. So it is very important to notice if any such symptoms take in their child. And to pay attention should one’s child starts complaining about having such problems. Of course if one has a child to often complains about problems then it might have to be taken into consideration. Or if one’s child is prone to not mention when feeling sick or some symptom then it can be a signal of something wrong. In either case a parent will be very advised to be sure to monitor a child’s health.

Thus if one notices a child constantly is in need of something to drink and no matter how much has to drink still wants more then that can be a danger signal. But doesn’t have to be the case. That again is a matter of how the child normally behaves, which a parent should definitely know. So that is part of the monitoring process. Therefore, for example, if a child is hunger all the time and before had a normal appetite that can be very significant. Yet, appetite can be triggered by many factors. So one has to ask if the child is having problems in some area? There are so many problems for children that can lead to stress and that contribute to hunger. Plus a child may not be wiling to admit to having problems. That can be another hard thing to figure out as a parent.

But if any of the symptoms becomes apparent then it will be very important that the child have a chance to let a physician check out the problem. Only somewhere so skilled has the expertise to assess if symptoms are related to diabetes. Then to do any tests needed to make a final decision. And in the cases when it is not diabetes then some other cause will have to be determined. And then one can know what other things need to be done to help a child who is having other problems. Plus having the facts is so very important. It will help ease the mind and make choices easier to make. And that can be such a benefit when a person is unsure of what is the best way to deal with such problems. There is no one solution that always will provide perfect answers for everyone. That is one fact we all have to accept.

There is no way to always make the correct choice in so many situations. With Type 1 diabetes if symptoms are noticeable then it will be essential to not ignore them. A child can not be expected to always know when something is in his or her best interests. This is part of what parenting must do. Then be loving and caring enough to be sure the child gets any help that is needed. And that can only be done by knowing and recognizing when there are problems and when they need to be treated.

There are some specific symptoms associated with Type 2 diabetes. They are ones that will happen with adults that can indicate the onset of diabetes. These can be attributed to other problems, but should not be ignored if they continue to exist for a period of time. That is because if they do happen to be associated with diabetes the lack of diagnoses can result in potentially very serious health problems. So if there is any concern at all one should have a doctor check out ones glucose level in the blood or any other tests that might need to be performed. Symptoms often associated with Type 2 diabetes include an increased hunger from the lack of insulin to help the cells absorb the glucose. Or it might be a problem of being thirsty all the time or constantly needing to urinate. This is a problem of the body having excess sugar in the blood from the poor insulin usage so one’s system is just trying to flush out that excess. Thus it causes a constant need for more fluids.

Another problem may be sudden weight loss. This is when the body’s cells are being starved from a lack of sugar since the insulin isn’t working correctly. Thus even with eating more the body begins to lose weight. So while one craves more fun it actually is have its tissues deplete because it using other sources of energy stored in places such as the muscles. Then too the person might feel very tired all the time. That again is because the body is being deprived of needed energy. And then can’t replenish as easily what is used. Also one can suffer from noticing darkened areas on the skin develop. This is not unusual with Type 2 diabetes and is a condition know as acanthosis nigricans, which is a sign the body is being resistant to insulin.

In addition the person might experience problems with blurred vision. This may happen when the blood sugar is too high and fluid is drained from lenses of the eyes in order to help get the sugar out of the blood stream. Thus it might result in a person having problems focusing. One more condition that might take place is case of noticing that sores and infections are very slow to heal. With Type 2 diabetes it can affect the bodies ability to heal at a normal rate. So that will cause cuts and wounds to not improve in a timely manner. That will be another possible consequence of diabetes. So it is very important to understand how each is a potential sign that diabetes maybe be a problem. And therefore to also appreciate why these symptoms do relate to the disease so one can better understand when it is important to actually seek a doctor’s advice. Being able to diagnose the problem in a timely manner can truly impact what treatments are needed.

With the way life makes so many demands on people it is easy to have stress or other factors influence how one feels. There is nothing unusual about that aspect. However, should a change occur then it is time to be sure it is checked out. And that is a process that will be easy to determine for the doctor who is trained to recognize and diagnose such symptoms. There are just some things we can’t leave to chance. And I one decides to ignore these symptoms it will not make the condition get better. So make the choice to not pay attention to such symptoms. Every year there are sad tales of the consequences some have experience from such choices. Which is why it is so much better to take the time to find out the truth and remove any question.

Unlike with other forms of diabetes, Gestational diabetes doesn’t always have symptoms that are readily noticeable. Although a woman might notice a constant thirst coupled with increased urination. However, that doesn’t necessarily end up being always observed in every case. Thus the woman needs to as part of her maternity checks up have her blood sugar tested. This is even more important if there is a history of diabetes in the family. And as a regular part of frequent check ups the doctor will want to monitor blood sugar levels. Making sure that there is no change that goes unnoticed. Plus if it is known there is a high risk of possible Gestational diabetes the doctor will no doubt want to increase the frequency of the check ups. It is also possible that one’s physician might even referred his patient to other health professionals to assist in the monitoring process. Such specialist might include a registered dietician, endocrinologist or perhaps a diabetes educator. They all would be an extra means to assist in the proper monitoring and other means needed to be sure Gestational diabetes is discovered and treated. It will also to be able to help in ways to keep it from becoming a problem.

Still if the time between any appointment should an expecting mother notice the symptoms mention it is important she contact her doctor right way. This should be done for her benefit as well as her baby’s. It is the only way to be sure that this potential problem does not get missed when it is other than during the normal time of an appointment. While there might be other reasons for the problem of excessive thirst it should not be ignored. And this is even more important when considering how it might affect the unborn child’s life. For that reason an expecting mother will want to take every precaution when it comes to this risk. And including any possible changes in habits that might be needed to help keep this problem from becoming a more critical issue. There is no way to underestimate that need. Thus the mother to be will want to follow the doctor’s advice in that regard. And if he recommends additional sources for help or instruction it will be because he honestly feels they will be a benefit. That is what will always be the most important consideration.

The way the doctor often helps to monitor any possible risk of Gestational diabetes is to check the woman’s blood sugar level. This will be on ongoing process that will most likely take place any time an appointment is kept. That will be the normal means he will used to be sure any changes are noticed. But he may also take the time to make any other suggestions that might help with the risks of this type of diabetes. So that will be a matter of what he decides during the examination. And there will be plenty of time for the expectant mother to also find out answers to any questions. In order to assist with the whole process of making sure the woman is comfortable and informed about what problems might be faced and who he will treat those concerns.

While no amount of monitoring is guaranteed to be sure the patient is diagnosed as fast as would be desired, the methods used by the physician will always be sure that every precaution is taken. And the utmost attention will be given to both the mother an unborn child’s welfare. This includes a thorough process of checking anything that will carry a risk to either mother or child.

There are some specific signs that are one may have diabetes. They will often relate in some wave to the nerves. This is generally associated with a condition known as diabetic neuropathy. It is the result of nerve damage that result in pain to feet, legs and hands. In addition another form called, promixmal neuropathy, can be felt in the thighs, buttocks and hips. This can cause problems with the ability to walk. Therefore it is very important for a person to understand and recognize these signs of diabetes. They can include things like a “pins and needles” sensation in the hands or feet. Or it might give a tingling or burning feeling in the feet, toes, fingers, arms or hands. One might experience numbness or loss of feeling. Sometimes that can also result in being less sensitive to heat and cold. On the other hand the skin could become very sensitive to any touch. In addition it might come as a feel of muscle weakness in feet or hands. And in some situations the problem may be a loss of coordination or balance that affects the ability to walk. They all in different ways will be possible signs of diabetes.

And the reason this occurs most often to places like the feet is because they are the longest in the body and thus the first to so often to be affected. Thus it is more likely one will notice the signs there before anywhere else. So if any problems occur with the feet that be very noticeable before other places. And should any signs be detected then is very important to not ignore that problem or condition. It will be a time to actually consult a doctor to have tests done to see if one’s blood sugar is out of the normal range. Then the doctor can make sure if those symptoms are they from something other than diabetes. And to be sure that they are treated as needed.

While one can’t always tell when the cause of this problem is related to diabetes it is very important it not be ignore. So many with diabetes will experience this problem at some time. And it can represent the risk of possible future problems. Eventually if there is enough damage from this condition it can mean the possibility of amputation. Which is the case of extreme nerve damage. That is why the person who starts feeling any of these signs can’t afford to ignore the dangers. When having any questions the person can always consult their doctor. That is something he can examine and test for the seriousness of the condition. So checking with the doctor is always a very critical part of the process. Some often tend to simply ignore those signs until it is a serious problem.

How easy it is to not want to make changes. Still, with this type of condition that can truly have very serious consequences. And if the person is not currently a diabetic it is all the more reason to let those warning by the body speak their meaning. That can be so critical when it is done at a point that is doesn’t carry major problems. One might not be able to undo the damage, but the longer it goes undiagnosed the worse it can be. So that will be so essential in the complete process of tending to health needs. And like so many things it is easy to put off than pay attention to some pain. Trying to just take pain pills or some other option won’t deal with the deeper issues. Those require help and testing. That only a doctor can truly make possible with an accurate assessment of the problem.

The primary focus of treatment for diabetes is to minimize the effects that happen to the blood sugar levels. This is something that is done without causing a problem of creating abnormally low blood sugar levels. That is because having blood sugar levels that are too low can lead to as many problems for the health as if it is too high. The body ends up deprived of nutrients it needs and it can result in several possible consequences including things like dizziness and also fatigue. So that is why a balance is needed to be sure the blood sure remains as close to normal levels as possible. Treatment will be based on the methods that have proven to be the most effective in obtaining that goal. Doctors will naturally prescribe the means they feel will best aid the proper forms of help as is needed for each individual. But as a rule they do follow the certain traditional methods that are regarded as the most successful. These will be prescribed with the means to do what will be felt best works with that diabetes patient’s condition.

As a rule if the person suffers from Type 1 diabetes the most common treatments are the use of insulin supplement with either pills or injections, exercise and a diabetic diet. Since this involves juveniles the form of exercise and diabetic diet used has to consider their age and possible growth factors. This will be something the physician will have to monitor. And they will have to make sure the child’s overall health is treated in a way since this will be a life long problem. Thus some effort needs to be made to be sure it accounts for the instilling of life long habits that will benefit the child after they reach adulthood. So that may require the help of outside sources that are specialist in things like diet control and nutrition. That will again be part of the resources the doctor will consider.

With Type 2 diabetes the types of treatments are weight reduction, exercise and a diabetic diet. These are initial methods of treatments will hopefully work in helping with the maintaining blood sugar levels. They will be the ones that if they are successful will be enough to prevent the need of the other option. That is the use of insulin. This can be in either oral form or may require the use of injections. It will all depend on the progress that happens with the first forms of treatments. This will be determined by the use of monitoring. That will be done by the use of a blood sugar meter where one can use a drop of blood to see what is the current blood sugar level. Often this means checking it more than once a day to get an accurate record of how the blood sugar changes.

There are many factors that can affect changes in one’s blood sugar. So in many cases the person will need to check what they ate and when in order to see what might have made a change. The doctor will also be able to look at the information and decide if any changes are needed. Plus he will also be able to provide access to other aids regarding diet and exercise that will fit a given person’s situation. Thus he can customize a form of treatment that is personalized according to a given person’s need. And with the right kind of direction the treatments will serve the purpose intended. It all will be a planned and organized means of allowing the patient to deal with diabetes in a way that is beneficial to the person’s general welfare and health.

There are different opinions on the causes of diabetes. They have all been things that have seen as possible contributors to onset of diabetes in a person’s life. Naturally one’s family history will always be a factor that increases the risk of developing diabetes. That is an aspect, which if know will also increase the motivation one would have to be checked for diabetes more often. And then too also be more careful in observing any possible symptoms at they occur in one’s body. Which is something that is very critical if many members of one’s family already suffer from diabetes. And is it also important if the family members are so inflicted that one be aware of what were the cause that lead to their becoming a diabetic. This will be a matter of discussing the information with the person and so that one can know if those same causes my be present in one’s life. However, that is all part of making oneself informed if the situation is such that there is a high risk in one’s family for diabetes.

With Type 1 diabetes the body’s pancreas has become dysfunctional in such a way that it can not produce either enough insulin or the type that will work properly in the blood stream. The opinions on why this happen in a child’s life vary. Some feel it is the result of an infection from a specific virus or bacteria. Others have thought it could be exposure to a food that has some chemical toxins that affect the body. Another view is that an infant was given cow’s milk that in some way affected the body’s immune system. That it in some component in the milk caused a reaction to the milk. And that would have a consequence that later cause some dysfunction in the pancreas. These are all just opinions that so far have not been proven so they are not regarded as the verified causes, just commonly held views. And until other information is available they will remain the most often advanced opinions.

In the case of Type 2 diabetes it is a case that at some point the pancreas stops working efficiently. The insulin it produces just no longer is able to do what is needed in terms of letting the cells absorb the blood sugar. And there are several causes that are risks with Type 2 diabetes that can be factors the disease occurred in a person. These include the problem of getting older, obesity and having a lack of physical activity. In addition on a lesser possible level are things such as the effects of certain medications, pregnancy and some illness. Each may play a part in contributing to why a person develops diabetes as an adult. They all are better understood as they apply to a person’s situation. Some will find the risks and cause easy to identify than others.

Regardless of the causes the one thing that must not be ignored is when one knows there is a family history of diabetes in the family. If ones father or mother have diabetes, grandparents, aunts or uncles then it increases the likelihood that it will be a risk in one’s life. And if a given cause was a factor in that family member then it is very possible it might be a cause in ones life. So those related to Type 2 diabetes will be needed to dealt with as risk factors such as with the problem of being overweight. Those will be things the person at risk will wish to be very aware of and not forget.
