Many people talk about adult onset diabetes, but the key is to know what the symptoms are to even consider possibly having it. Also the risk factor involved in getting these symptoms is another thing to consider.

The symptoms of adult onset diabetes are the following, frequent urination, even when you haven’t drank much is key, increase in appetite, but no significant weight gain, infect maybe a loss of weight, frequently thirsty, blurred vision, and a fatigue are also common symptoms very slow healing of minor skin conditions, or many infections or virus’s, in men the inability of getting an erection is also one of the symptoms of adult onset diabetes. If you are experiencing any of these symptoms you may have adult onset diabetes, or better known as diabetes type 2.and you should consult your doctor for a blood glucose check.

Currently adult onset diabetes is the 7th largest killer in the United States, although the good news that goes with this staggering statistic is that 90 percent of people with this illness who are not dependant on insulin injections can be cured on 3 conditions. One that they achieve, their ideal weight, and 2, that they eat a healthy diet, and exercise regularly The key to living a long live with adult onset diabetes is to eat healthy , exercise, don’t smoke or drink alcohol, and keep your weight down.

Sometimes people get diabetes onset symptoms for other reasons then their bad eating habits and weight gain. It may not be fault of their own. In some cases the lack of insulin is caused by auto immune disease or a viral infection to the pancreas If this is left untreated serious complications can occur even resulting in death. Strokes, premature heart disease and blindness are not uncommon.

Genetics are something to consider too. If there is any history of diabetes in the family, there is a good chance that diabetes or high glucose levels are in the blood line and the risks are greater that you may have adult onset diabetes. This makes it even more important that you watch you diet even more carefully. because having diabetes in the family history will double your chance in getting a diabetic disorder. Something to keep in mind even if you have no symptoms at all.

The person’s diet is critical when it comes to adult onset diabetes. Everything you eat is directly related to your blood glucose level, and if not careful, you could develop diabetes type 2. Prevention is better then the cure so you can control your owner destiny. If you feel like a doughnut in the morning, think twice. make yourself a cheese sandwich instead. Steer clear of soda pop, cookies, and cakes. Its okay to eat them once in a while but if this is your daily diet, you can be assured that you will be diagnosed with diabetes type 2 in the future.

Its not easy giving up so many good things to eat but changing your diet is essential to avoid diabetes type 2. You don’t have to change you diet all at once; you have time to slowly adjust your diet. If you happen to eat sweet on a daily basis , just cut back to twice a week, then once a week, and then maybe once every 2 weeks. Same thing goes for other foods that are bad for your condition. Remember you don’t have to give them up, you just have to stop making them a normal food item in your diet, and save them for special occasion. This small change may be the difference in getting diabetes type 2 or not.

21 million people in the United States alone have diabetes, a chronic, life long illness. Like most illness, this disease requires a lot of medical supplies, and other products, just to maintain a normal lifestyle, or to aid in the comfort and manage their condition more effectively. There are several shops both online and in regular retail stores that offer diabetic products. Some offer specific items, and others are super stores carrying almost everything a diabetic may need.

There are literally hundreds of online stores that service the diabetic for their nutritional needs, as well as their physical comfort. The American Diabetes Association can be a great help on information on purchasing diabetic products, or assist you in obtaining the necessary products. Some products may be 100 percent covered by insurance, and others may be partially covered. It’s important to find out what you may be eligible for, and where to find it.

Some people prefer to do their diabetic shopping online. This is a convenient way to shop with out leaving the home. Your medical supplies arrive at your doorstep, and with today’s quick delivery system, its fast, and it can even arrive the next day if necessary… There are also many online stores, it important to research the stores online and pick the best price and quality items.
If you are the type that likes to shop face to face there are many medical supply stores that carry lines of diabetic supplies. Some stories only carry the essential goods such as syringes, glucose blood meters, and test strips. But others have more of a variety of items for comfort and convenience. Contact your doctor for advice on where to find these stores, and what he recommends.

If you have the basic supplies need for your diabetes type 2 but are looking of other things to make it more comfortable and convenient, there are several diabetic bookstores available online,. These books s have insight and ideas on how to cook diabetic friendly food, when spices and herbs to add to lower your blood glucose level, or even what equipment is available for the diabetic customer. There are literally thousands of diabetic stores on line so there should be no problem finding anything you want or need that is available. Today’s technology makes any product available world wide.

The sad reality is most people eventually die from complications of their diabetes, there are diabetics stores that help people avoid or prolong the inevitable by offering herbal supplements, and vitamins, along with healthier food for the diabetic community. There are also stores for people who are in the advanced stages off diabetes, and rare looking for more comfort to deal with their disease. Stores dealing with diabetic foot problems are one example. Diabetics often have ulcerated sores on their feet due to poor circulation and the inability to heal their skin. You can find many stores just dealing with the foot issues of diabetics, as well as other side affects of diabetes that may require additional comfort needs.

When you are a diabetic it’s normal to have high blood sugar levels, and low blood sugar levels, and it’s up to the individual to recognize their symptoms. A cold, the flu or any viral infection will most likely raise glucose levels in diabetics. Too much insulin and other medications may lower a diabetic’s glucose level.

It’s important to recognize and manage high and low blood sugar levels to have diabetes type 2. You doctor should let you know what he feels your blood sugar level should be at, and how to adjust it when necessary… Testing your blood on a regular basis is the best way to monitor and build a history for your doctor to analyze and adjust accordingly. This may help you avoid any potential serious situation, like an emergency trip to the hospital.

Everyone’s situation is a bit different and lifestyles and habits make a difference when it comes to blood sugar levels in diabetics. Following your doctors advice on insulin levels, and diabetic medicines, as well as diet and exercise, will help you avoid any dangerous high or low blood sugar levels, and will aid in controlling your diabetes type 2, Your home glucose testing will help you see if you fall in the range of a healthy blood sugar level for a diabetic person. This is determined by your doctor, and diabetic experts. If you blood sugar level drops considerably, you may be tempted to get it to rise high, but it’s more important to keep in a target range and not to go too low and over compensate. The easiest way to keep your blood glucose level in the target range is to test your blood on a regular basis, and follow your diabetic diet to the letter. This may not always be possible so if you fall off the diet its important to test your blood two hours after the meal you just consumed.

If you are experiencing very high or very low readings, but feeling fine, its possible your glucose meter is malfunctioning, or your test was just inaccurate. You may want to take another reading and it still reads too high or too low, your glucose meter may have to be recalculated. This happens quite frequently and you have to be aware of this possibility.

Teenage diabetics have the hardest time keeping their blood sugar levels normal because their bodies are still growing, and developing. Blood sugars are affected by the developing and growing of the body, and this makes it more difficult for the teen to control their blood sugar. The other fact is they want to eat and drink what every other teen is eating, so they may stray off their diet. It’s essential that they know the serious risks from too high, or too low of blood sugar.

Children with diabetes type 2 depend on their parents to keep their child’s glucose level in the target area, The parents have a big challenge because children tend to sneak foods, and don’t fully understand how dangerous their condition can be, and how important it is to listen, and follow instructions. They see other kids eating things and they don’t want to be left out so its very common they will sneak food, A support group for children with diabetes may be a great educational tool and help the child understand more about their condition.

There are several symptoms of pre diabetes, and diabetes type 2 that a person should recognize. If you are experiencing these symptoms you should visit your doctor and explain your symptoms. He may want to give you a blood diabetes test.

The first thing to do is recognize the symptoms of diabetes type 2. An increase in thirst and not getting your thirst quenched is one symptom. Frequent urination, even when not drinking a lot of fluids. unexplained weight loss, and no lack of hunger, and tingling in the feet and hands are signs of high glucose levels and maybe diabetes type 2. A doctor will mostly request a diabetes blood test.

The simplest and the most common diabetes blood test is the fasting glucose test. A person’s blood is drawn after a period of not eating or drinking anything for at least 8 hours (except water) the blood sample is sent to a lab and is tested for glucose levels or sugar in the blood. There is a standard blood glucose level and if it is much higher you may have diabetes type 2. Even if you have a normal blood sugar but still have the risk factors of diabetes, your doctor may request a blood glucose test just to make sure you don’t have diabetes type 2.

Normal fasting blood sugar is usually a good sign you don’t have diabetes. The normal reading in blood test is for the most part enough to give you a clean diagnosis. However if you have several risk factors, you still may have diabetes and should be further tested Some of the risk factors a doctor will look at are, a history of diabetes in your family, over the age of 45 doubles your chances of contracting diabetes type 2, the race or ethnic background of the person, obesity, or high cholesterol levels are other risk factors for diabetes. If you are female and had a history of diabetes while pregnant, or a person who is very inactive or a person who have had vascular illnesses are also a higher risk for diabetes type 2.

Another diabetes blood test is where blood is drawn after a meal and is tested for glucose levels this test will provide information on which your blood is reacting to the food you just consumed. This is very important because it will tell the doctor how you food is being processed, a dif your insulin is working in your blood stream. This is a normal test for diabetics but a doctor may request this test, as well as a fasting glucose test which tests for glucose in the blood without it being affecting by food. It’s normal for blood sugar levels to rise after eating but after 2 hours your normal insulin should have reduced the glucose level in the blood. If not there is a good possibility that you are pre diabetic, or even have diabetes type 2. Sometimes a series of blood test will be done to see if there is a pattern of high glucose levels, or maybe it some other thing is causing the sugar levels to rise. The blood glucose tests are very accurate but if the person has no risk factors, or lacks many of the symptoms of diabetes type 2, there is a slight possibility its another issue causing the glucose level to rise.

Any chronic and life long illness will require many medical supplies, which are not only necessary but can be very costly. Having diabetes type 2 is no exception. There are literally hundreds of stores offering diabetic supplies online, as well as regular retail operations as well.

First and foremost are blood glucose meters, syringes, and test strips There are 21 million people in the United States that use these basic products.

There is no cure for diabetes type 2, and after the doctor diagnoses diabetes type 2 in person, their whole life changes from that point on. The person becomes more of a manager of the disease, and basically controls their own destiny. Trips to the doctor are less frequent because diabetes type 2 is primarily treated by the person with the disease. The doctors are used more for major symptom changes, and to monitor the person’s illness.

The first thing needed to treat diabetes type 2 is to lower the blood sugar level. The goal is to keep the persons blood sugar level at a normal rate. Since blood sugar levels change constantly the person has to monitor and test their blood on a consistent basis. This unfortunately is a life long thing.

If a person is diagnosed with diabetes type 2, it’s important they learn how to manage and treat their own self to avoid trips to their doctor, or worse, the hospital. It takes time to learn how to mange your illness but when you do, it will be very beneficial. It’s important that they stay current on technology and research and learn to cope with their illness. It may take months to learn how to manage their illness, and to learn their complications. The more they learn the more they will understand and cope with their illness.

The primary treatment for diabetes type 2 is diet and exercise. It’s important that a person with diabetes stays active and exercises on a regular basis. This helps the circulatory and respiratory systems which become affected by complications from diabetes healthier you keep your body, the better the chances you don’t get sicker. and the less likely the diabetes, The will affect these vital areas. A diabetic diet is crucial. What is consumed affects the blood glucose level which in turn affects how much insulin medication is necessary. When the right time and how much you should eat are also very important. All of things are paramount to the treatment of diabetes type 2.

Learning a few basic skills will help aid you in dealing with your diabetes, and avoid trips to the doctor. How to test your blood sugar level? what foods to eat? what not to eat? how much, and when? Food intake is a very important factor, And when you learn what to eat, and when, you may find out that your blood sugar may drop, and less insulin will be necessary. When you feel sick it’s important to know how to treat yourself. Learn to recognize the symptoms of high and low blood sugar so you know how to treat yourself… You also need to educate yourself on where to buy diabetic supplies. These are primary skills needed to manage your diabetes type 2.

Most of the treatment for diabetes type 2 is done by the person, not by the doctor. After the initial diagnosis by the doctor it’s up to the person to treat themselves and to control their diabetes. Usually a person only has to test their blood twice a day for glucose levels, and over time with some managing skills you will understand and be able to treat your symptoms better then your own doctor. The key treatment is diet and exercise; Alcoholic beverages contain a lot of sugars and should be avoided, as well as smoking which also affects the blood stream.

Diabetes is a chronic life long illness where your body does not produce enough insulin or does not react to the insulin properly, thus causing a high glucose level in the blood stream. Insulin is produced in the pancreas and released in the blood stream to lower the glucose level in the blood. When this act fails, either because not enough insulin is produced, or the body is not reacting properly to the insulin, high levels of sugar remain in the blood. This is called diabetes. High contents of sugar in the blood stream lead to various and dangerous conditions, attacking many organs of the body. Diabetes type 2 is the 3rd largest killer in the United States. Most deaths occur from complications due to diabetes. Kidney, liver failure, and heart disease have all been associated with diabetes.

There are 3 major types of diabetes, but also several other diabetic conditions, such as pre diabetes, and insulin resistance… Type 1 diabetes is where the body does not produce any insulin; therefore insulin injections are necessary for every one who has the disease. Approximately 5-10 percent of Americans have type 1 diabetes. The second form of diabetes is known as type 2 diabetes. This is where the body cells fail to use the insulin properly causing the pancreas to produce and release more insulin. Most people diagnosed with diabetes are type2 sufferers. These people usually spend years with pre diabetic symptoms before they diagnosed with diabetes type 2. It’s estimated that there are 57 million Americans with pre diabetes. That’s why it’s commonly called “America’s largest health care epidemic”. Gestational diabetes is high blood sugar levels during pregnancy. Woman who never had high sugar levels in their blood till they got pregnant are said to have Gestational diabetes. This occurs in about 4 percent of the cases. It may precede diabetes type 2, and in rare cases diabetes type1… there are several other rare forms of diabetes that make up less then 1 percent of the diabetic cases in the United States.

There is no cure for diabetes but it is treatable, and has been since 1921. that’s the year where insulin became medically available, Gestational diabetes usually repairs itself after the delivery, that’s the only good news. Diabetes is a life long illness that a person has to learn to manage, until there is a cure. The worst thing about the disease is the way it attacks so many organs and has so many long terms serious complications such as heart disease, blindness, erectile dysfunction skin conditions poor circulation, foot problems and nerve damage. Death occurs in many if left untreated either directly or from complications from the disease.

The best way to treat diabetes is to get on a diabetic diet. Lots of high fiber foods, low carbohydrates, avoid cakes, cookies chocolate, or any sugar products, such as soda, or candy. Lean beef and poultry are the best meats to eat. Green leafy vegetables are a great source of fiber. Fresh seafood is another good food item, as well as broccoli and Brussels sprouts. Exercising on a regular basis is also essential for treating diabetes. Keeping you body physically fit helps ward of diabetes affecting other parts of yours body. Avoid alcohol and smoking. Both of these habits are negative factors and will worsen the health of a diabetic person.
