Diabetes mellitus is the official and formal name for the disease, which is more often know just as diabetes. It is the situation where the body simple is unable through the pancreas to manufacturer the proper level of insulin needed in order for the blood to use it as needed. The insulin is needed to assist glucose, which is the form of sugar made from digested food to be absorbed into the cells. This is a disease that has been becoming more prevalent in our society. There are a lot of reason’s assume to be the contributing factors. Such things as the increase in consumption of foods high in fat and calories will affect one’s well being. And then the tendency towards being more sedentary will decease one’s calorie consumption. Plus there is the reality that in our society we do often face a great deal of stress in the daily routine. It all becomes the many ways that will be part of what increases the risk a person faces in terms of becoming a diabetic. There is also the situations were children also end up being afflicted with this disease. However, with children the causes are often different than with adults. And thus with childhood forms it is referred to as Type 1. And with adults it is known as Type 2.
