This is the opposite of the condition, hypoglycemia, or as it is sometimes called, hyperglycemia. A number of factors can be the cause of high blood sugar. Things like eating too many grams of carbohydrates can be a factor. Or just eating too many calories in general can be impact the blood sugar. Also things such as infection, illness, stress or even very strenuous activity can contribute to the condition. They all can in some way have a possible affect on one’s blood sugar. Which will need to be considered when using a blood glucose meter. That is the most common way a person has to check their blood sugar. So that all part of a monitoring process that is needed when high blood pressure is suspected. Thus the use of a meter may be something the person will need to used on a regular basis. That is on change the person will have to consider if they becomes a regular condition. That is one change that must be accept as necessary to be sure an accurate picture of one’s blood sugar is known.

The signs of high blood sugar are often those related to the usual symptoms observed with diabetes. Those can include things such as fatigue or blurred vision, sores that heal slowly and recurring bladder infections. Also excessive thirst and numbness that will suggest that diabetes is present. Still one will need to have the blood sugar count checked to be sure that the problem is the problem of the blood sugar being too high. However, if that does end up being the case then the person will need to take the steps by the doctor to treat the condition. That will be based on what the health care provider decides is the best method for help.

This may require something like the need for insulin or just a change of diet. It will all be determined by a large number of factors that will be based on what the glucose blood test results indicate. However, that will be up to the doctor and what he or she feels is the best option at the time. It might begin with something like diet and exercise or the addition of oral medication. Then later to adjust the treatment according to whatever the test results show as the treatments are applied. That is part of an ongoing process that will have to implemented on a regular basis to be sure the person’s blood sugar is checked and treatment is helpful. Which often becomes a life long practice.
